„Body, mind and spirit are like a trinity. The world is sustained by their interaction. They provide the substratum for all that exists. United, they create the feeling being, for which Ayurveda was called into the light“
Caraka Samhita: Sutra Sthana
AYURVEDA MASSAGE
Introduction
Ayurveda is one of the oldest medical systems in the world. The name is composed of 2 Sanskrit words, namely "Ayus" (= all aspects of life from birth to death) and "Veda" (= knowledge).
If we are able to let this 'knowledge of a long and fulfilled life' become the guiding principle of our daily existence, it becomes an art of living with which the individual physical, mental and spiritual potential can be utilized in the best possible way. Here it becomes clear that Ayurveda not only serves to heal diseases, but above all works preventively.
In Ayurvedic teachings, the knowledge of the interaction of all elements on earth is fundamental and all-pervasive. Thus these forces also work in the human being: Ether, air, fire, water and earth as moving, transforming and maintaining principles.
The special, individual constitution of each person results from the very own weighting of these elements and their effects. Distinguished are 3 constitutional energies (doshas): VATA, PITTA and KAPHA. In their normal state of development, they support the physiological processes of the body. In their abnormal state, they lead to various pathological processes in the human organism.
The doshas are always in relation to each other and inseparable, you can imagine this interaction like a balance with three bowls.
